New York City, USA
My name is Xavier – I’m a self-trained illustrator and graphic artist from the Bronx, New York.
I fell in love with
design and began illustrating in my free time as a creative outlet. Soon, I began spending most of my time towards on design and then eventually illustrating. I spent my professional career researching and applying behavioral science and human psychology because I’ve always had an interest in people and understanding the way they think, feel, and act.
I became an illustrator through a really weird path. I got a psychology degree in college and started working behavioral science researcher. Part of my job was using visual communication to help make social service programs more effective, so I started teaching myself graphic design to get better at visual communication.
My interest in people definitely carried over to my creative work where I’ve spent most of my time illustrating people of different races, ethnicities, genders, and professions through various styles of portrait design. I love working as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator and I’ve now worked with a number of musical acts, entertainers, and small and large businesses to help them visually communicate their vision and values with a variety of audiences.
